This sure makes a case for belt drive when a shaft drive design seems to NOT be optimized in this way. The other day I noticed a whine while accelerating and I'm having a hard time pinpointing where it's coming from. But starts again as soon as I press the gas again. I have NO idea where it is coming from and its starting to drive me a little crazy. chirp noise when acceleration and crrprrrrprrrprrrrprrrprrr noise when cruising at steady speed +/- 1MPH. If you own a car, it probably makes noises you can't identify, but would love to fix. The only time that I hear it is when I am accelerating, once I have reached the desired speed it stops unless I accelerate or tap gas. I must not know what it is because I don't have any noise I would consider chirping, but after working flight decks and flying for 20 years (and getting old) my hearing is shot anyhow. I have a 2013 CRV with 38k. This is very annoying and sometimes embarrassing. It chirps twice then stops after the truck is past 10mph+. Chirping noise: 3 different shops cant diagnose.
